All the District Educational Officers & Ex-Officio Project Coordinators and Additional Project Coordinators of Samagra Shiksha in the State are informed that the Samagra Shiksha,A.P. has decided to implement the Rani Laxmibai Atma Raksha Prashikshan-Self Defense Programme in all Govt. MPPUPS, ZPHS, KGBVS, Model Schools, Municipal, Social Welfare, Tribal Welfare Schools and Junior Colleges for the girl students of 8th & 9th class and Class 11th & 12th to empower their self defensive mechanism through learning martial arts. The major aim of introducing Rani Laxmibai Atma Raksha Prashikshan-Self Defense Programme is not only to know various self protection techniques but also to attain physical fitness and sound mind.

I. OBJECTIVES:


a. To develop confidence among the girls and able to defend themselves. 

b. To equip the girls with self-skills, so that they can avert any kind of awkward situation at the first instances.

 c. To give a message to the abuser that the girls have awareness and capable of protecting themselves in difficult situations.

d. To empower the girl students in all aspects.

e. To make the Physical Education teacher at each school aware of these skills for the future practice of them as a part of school curriculum

II. IMPLEMETING AGENCY: State Project Director, Samagra Shiksha, Andhra Pradesh has entered into Memorandum of Understanding with the following Self defense academies to implement Rani Laxmibai Atma Raksha Prashikshan-Self Defense Programme for the girl students of all Govt., MPPUPS, ZPHS, KGBVs, Model Schools, Municipal, Social Welfare, Tribal Welfare Schools and Junior Colleges for the girl students of 8th & 9th class and Class 11th & 12th.

Rani Laxmibai Atma Raksha Prashikshan-Self Defense Programme- Implementation of activities in all Govt. MPPUPS, ZPHS, KGBVS, Model Schools, Municipal, Social Welfare, Tribal Welfare Schools and Junior Colleges for the girl students of 8th & 9th class and Class 11th & 12th - orders
Prashikshan-Self Defense Programme has been developed in 2016-17. Further supplementary material has been included for the academic year 2017-18. The module contains perspectives of self defense course theory and practices skills of Martial Arts.

1. Inspiring, promoting self-confidence articles. 2. Distribution of the Course Module is as follows.

a. 10 modules per School

b. 4 copies (02+02) to RJDS & 50 copies to each DEOS in two versions separately.

c. A total of 101946 copies will be printed and distributed as above

IV. FEES: No fees will be charged for the students for taking the training.

V. AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS: The selected Implementing Agencies will be provided with a total outlay of Rs.753.23 Lakhs for providing training to1001890 students of 10043 schools of 26 Districts. The amount will be paid as per the terms and conditions in MoU. The Scheme will receive 60% funds from Central Government & 40% funds from State Government as per the PAB 2022-23 for imparting Rani Laxmibai Atma Raksha Prashikshan-Self Defense Programme. This scheme will cease to exist if it is stopped by Central Government or if it decides not to fund the scheme & the State Government will not continue the scheme in the above case.

VI. TIME SCHEDULE: The programme will be operational for 15 Classes in 15 working Days from 01.03.2023. The Principals shall allocate 6 hours per week for the Self defense Trainers to teach the course module covering both theory and practical. This allocated time of 6 hours will be divided into 6 times per week equally i.e. 1 hour per each specified day.

VII.OUTCOME OF THE POGRAMME:


• Self-defense classes help the students to build confidence in them and to develop self-discipline and also to improve their physical condition.

.It aid the students particularly when they are walking alone at night after classes. That's the time when students are most vulnerable to attack.

It helps the students to develop their mental and physical health.

By learning the basics of self-defence, it help to prepare themselves for dangerous and unforeseen circumstances. . It teaches the students regarding self-respect. Self-defense classes help to develop several human capabilities like self-esteem, overcoming of fear, awareness/alertness, and respect of self. 

 Taking self defense classes helps the students to develop a sort of warrior spirit. Taking the self defense classes will helps the students to have a positive impact on their life.

VII.ACTION PLAN: The Agency shall update reports / photos/ Vedio reels/ Films etc regularly on following Google Tracker which is shared by theDepartment.

All the District Educational Officers & Ex-Officio Project Coordinators and Additional Project Coordinators of Samagra Shiksha in the State are requested to issue instructions to concerned Headmaster/Principals of the Schools to implement the programme to the girl students of 8th & 9th class and Class 11th & 12th for 15 Classes in 15 working Days from 01.03.2023.
