The deadline for updating Aadhaar without any charges will expire on  December 14, 2023. After that, the myAadhaar portal will impose a fee of Rs 50 for Aadhaar card address update, similar to the existing practice at physical Aadhaar centers. Starting from tomorrow,  December 15, 2023, even the myAadhaar portal will require payment if the update is not completed today.
The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has been actively urging individuals to upload their Proof of Identity and Proof of Address (PoI/PoA) documents to validate their demographic details, especially if their Aadhaar was issued 10 years ago and has not been updated since. If any demographic information such as name, date of birth, or address needs to be modified, residents can either use the online update service or visit the nearest Aadhaar center.
To utilize the free service, individuals should visit the website https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/portal and log in using their Aadhaar number. An OTP (One Time Password) will be sent to their registered mobile number. Users can then proceed to the 'Document Update' section, verify their details, and upload the necessary documents to validate their information.
To avail themselves of this facility, individuals must submit proof of identity and address through the official website. We have provided below the list of documents that can serve as the address proof:
